ON-Message is an integrated instant messaging system for use within ON-AIR Pro that allows users to communicate about a group of spots, approval changes, or any other related information in the production process without switching applications (Fig. F-1). ON-Message notifies individual users of new messages, by highlighting the envelope icon that also opens the user's message center. This plug-in can be accessed from every module of ON-AIR Pro in a system wide fashion.

This comprehensive internal messaging system gives the user the ability to manage their messages, set their own messaging preferences such as a signatures and message handling as well as, adding multiple recipients, recipient group lists that correspond with ON-AIR Pro user groups and best of all, and sending a system-wide message. You can also have a copy of the message sent to the users e-mail program for each recipient and attach system record lists so that the user can open them within ON-AIR Pro, directly from the message or sent them along with their e-mail.

ON-AIR Pro users will find huge benefits in communication of production information that specifically relates to the production system. The ON-Message plug-in does not replace the usefulness of e-mail in the workplace but facilitates the production process in ways not possible with just e-mail. The reduction of production workflow traffic over e-mail will also save valuable time in e-mail composition for external users, since much of the information is filled out automatically by ON-AIR Pro.
